A Celebration of Caregivers at the Heart of Wellness
Caregiving goes beyond mere tasks—it’s about connection, compassion, and resilience. The Caregivers Wellness Fair 2024, held from November 21st to 23rd at Parklands Baptist Church, was a vibrant gathering organized by Suruvi, dedicated to empowering and energizing caregivers.
With the theme “Connect, Support, Grow,” the event transformed the Pavilion into a dynamic hub of learning, connection, and purposeful fun. From 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day, caregivers explored resources, gained valuable insights, and celebrated their indispensable roles.
Why This Event Matters
Caregivers are the unsung heroes, often neglecting their well-being to support others. This fair provided a platform to:
- Learn about health conditions affecting their loved ones.
- Access resources to ease their caregiving journey.
- Connect with a supportive community of peers and professionals.
Suruvi’s commitment to “Care for Caregivers” shone through a carefully curated line-up of experts and organizations offering actionable solutions to empower caregivers and healthcare providers. It wasn’t just an event—it was a movement to create awareness and empower related healthcare providers and caregivers to thrive, not just survive.
Event Highlights
The Pavilion hosted numerous passionate organizations addressing diverse health needs, fostering conversations and education. Among the remarkable participants were Kenya Hemophilia Association, Aster Health Care, narcolepsy and epilepsy advocates, and many other rare and lesser-known ailments experts.
The Kenya Ostomy Association (KOA) proudly brought stoma awareness to the forefront, showcasing ostomy supplies and engaging in meaningful discussions with attendees. Our stand was a revelation, dispelling stigma around stoma care and empowering caregivers to support ostomates in leading stigma-free, fulfilling lives.

Yes, they do! KOA demonstrated the resilience and strength of ostomates, proving caregiving is a partnership of empowerment.
